The shotgun is probably the most popular firearm in the US today, able to fulfill a variety of roles, and be a jack of all trades. It is also one of the least trained-with firearms, and many misunderstand its capabilities and the skills needed to successfully utilize it.
Shotgun 101 is a departure from our regular classes, because instead of concentrating on Combat Marksmanship, we concentrate on properly manipulating the shotgun. Make no mistake – we still emphasize marksmanship, but given the complexities of keeping a fighting shotgun loaded, we concentrate on manipulation and proper technique. We also emphasize stress inoculation, and working within a real-life dynamic situation, like a fight.
Like all of our 100 level classes, Shotgun 101 is for all levels of experience – beginners and seasoned shotgunners alike will all benefit from the topics we cover, and we cater the class to the level of experience of the students. We also welcome all types of shotguns, and have the experience and knowledge to teach single barrel, double barrel, pump, semi-auto, and detachable magazine shotguns - we can cover it all.
